through this entire thread, i learned one thing and one thing only about you gary. is that your channel has zero substance of its own. its poorly executed Durianrider clone. Every concept or style of content creation that is generally a no-go with new or small youtubers you brush off because Durianrider has never done that. so why should you?
This is the information I've processed so far about your channel:
- You claim you make great content yet the amount of people that watch it is abysmal.
- You seem to use Durianrider as a rule of thumb for anything content creation related.
- Thumbnails are unimportant to getting traffic to your videos.
- SEO is not worth the effort.
- You claim you have tried everything.
- You have made repeat claims about your "community." The biggest factor to how awkward this thread became, was that you don't seem to understand that your community includes US as well.
- You admitted to begging people to view your videos, yet your videos are great. " I actively seek views. It may be at the point where I'm embarrassing myself - begging."
Truth of the matter is, i dont think you made this thread to get to the root of the problem as everyone else here was willing to help with or was under the impression. I think you made this thread to seek some sort of following for people to be on your side about this, you want to hear people say "oh yeah that doesnt make sense your channel is legendary! why isnt it 99999999999 subscribers yet!?" instead of the genuine think and try to give safe and constructive advice.
Maybe you lied to yourself about the reason you posted this thread, or maybe everyone else misunderstood you from the get-go. Honestly this thread is far past concluded for me at this point. Hope everyone else agrees.

@Gary High-Fruit most of it has already mentioned but:
- The colour bit rate for channel banner and logo is too low.
- Banner doesn't contain textual information about your content and upload schedule. If you can't do it on your of get someone for cheap from fiverr.
- You don't have a dedicated channel trailer that makes the viewer watch more of you.
- An overall channel branding is missing.
- A high retention drop in the beginning can mean that titles and thumbnails are too clickbaity or you are promoting too broadly. Generally it means you try to appeal to people who are not interested in your content.
- I don't think your camera is too bad but your editing is. You are switching aspect ratios all over the place.
- Your camera work is very shaky. I don't find your filming while walking around or biking engaging. You have lots of wind and traffic noise.
- There's a lot of background noise even in your home videos. You will find a tutorial about how to get rid of it with the free program Audacity on my channel. Better would be to use a dedicated mic.
- Start your videos with a teaser to hook viewers.
- You need richer descriptions. Especially the first few lines are important for the rank algorithm.
- Why do you use tags like "Facebook" or "abortion"? Your videos aren't about them and it's very unlikely you will rank for such a high competition keyword anyway. Rather go for multi-word tags.
- Don't stuff tags in your description. It's against the TOS.
- Use an interactive end card to lead people to other videos of yours.
So there are a lot of flaws on your channel and no, your videos aren't top notch - neither in content nor in technical quality.

Everyone here has tried to help you in a polite and inviting manner, giving you tips on what you can do to build your channel. Yet you STILL act like a pompous jerk and insist you are doing everything right. I'm moving on. You wasted a lot of everyone's time here troll.

Yes they do, compared to liked videos. Dislikes rank better than nothing for sure, any engagement ranks you higher than not, but dislikes rank you lower than likes. If you have 2 videos with similar content, and one has 10 likes, and the other has 5 likes and 5 dislikes, the 10 like one will be higher up.
