Youtube player for vertical videos?

Heard somewhere that youtube is starting to develop/already are releasing a video player for vertical videos. I think it might just be for mobile. Do you know if/when that will be implemented and if that's going to mean new settings for how videos are displayed?
 
I've already seen some people upload vertical videos since the update, I think it's a great idea. Youtube had to do something to compete with Instagram TV. Youtube is a powerful force, I love Youtube. You got to make sure you upload the vertical video as it was shot otherwise you won't be able to enable vertical video mode.
 
I wasn’t aware there was such an update for this, but I have seen lots of people upload vertical videos on YouTube and I always thought that it was the wrong way
 
I don't create content in vertical form but I have already seen some from other creators and it looks great! It takes up more of the screen on computers and it fully fills the screens of cellphones.
