I have a very small channel, and recently made an Google ads/Youtube ads advertisement for one of my videos. The views skyrocketed in a day from 8 to so far 123. Wondeful! But~ I'm the type of person that looks at the analytics for views to see how well it's doing with audience retention and click through rate, but with these views from the ad, the analytics hasn't changed at all from before. Even stranger it still says only 6 unique viewers like how it did before the advertisement even though its over 100 views now.
My question is, are ad views somehow different from normal views on videos? Do they not add to the analytics of a video?
