Would you buy followers ?

Sometimes I like to watch some tutorials about : How to grow your fanbase on instagram or twitter,...
Because it's always nice to build a community on your social media too :')
But in some video's, people said to buy followers... They say : it's a boost...
Yeah, maybe it's a cool boost... But I don't know if that is legit if you understand me ?
I mean... Are those followers real ? Will they check your photo's or tweets or whatever ?
 
Nope. Those followers aren't organic and even if you're not caught out/banned from your site, you'll have a bunch of empty accounts that do nothing but boost numbers which doesn't necessarily equal growth. It also puts people off seeing disproportionate numbers of followers compared to interactions from them.

Yeah, the whole thing is just stupid
 
I think some channels have benefited from botting, you know they get their name up on the search results a lot easier thanks to it BUT

you will usually get caught.

That's true yes, but I won't ever subbot on my channel , that's just soooo useless , I just though it was okay on social media because 60% of the tutorial video's says that :S
I made this thread to be sure because I was so confused haha
