What are some good video editing programs that are free?

Hello guys I am currently learning how to use lightworks free. After doing some google searches most people recommend lightworks as the best free video editing program. I was wondering if you guys have some inputs on other programs?
 
Well, I can't speak personally, as I have not used it, but the guys from Film Riot had recommended Hitfilm Express. The fourth version recently came out, but at the time they had recommended the 3rd one. It's basically an video editor and compositor in one, so you can also add in some effects without the need of using that many other pieces of software.
