also your plan may result to meet up more survivors besides you... some maybe friendly and some may go a little over board. If the worlds is close to its end people will go nuts, the logical term is called "psychopaths" there even a huger threat then the zombies.
For an example:
your going to a store to get supplies... then suddenly this guy approach to you.

Why I chose a large city is because they have a larger food supply. The Walmart will be highly fortified, making it easy to defend from zombies. Plus Zombie Oompa Loompas will repair and restock the store every 3 days.

plus, the bigger the cities the more zombies you'll have to encounter, meaning more work, less time to plan, wasting ammo/supplies, and slight chance to survive. have you watch the video that i've posted?

Big city walmarts have more supplies, meaning more ammo. The zombie oompa loompas come every 3 days to reapair it, plus it is practically a fort.
