Unable to claim custom URL

It says

Many people have the same name. Add a few extra letters or numbers to make this URL unique to you.

When I try to claim our custom url. I checked both youtube and google+ and the custom url is not claimed by anyone.

Many people seem to have gone around this by removing 3 last characters from their google+ account name after which you can go claim url and manually add the same 3 characters to the url. I'm tempted to do this too but the google+ name change warns me about changing the name.

People change their names infrequently in the real world, so Google limits the number of times that you can do this.

Some people are saying the limit means once every 3 months. I sure don't want to end up being "Toys For K" for three months, haha.

Then some people have fixed this by deleting their google+ account and recreating it with the old name. Seems risky...

I was only able to send feedback to youtube. I wonder how I could contact them via the creator support?

PS. We reached 100 subscribers about an hour ago!
