The FineBros sending us traffic!

I was just really excited and wanted to share this! So, I was just sitting here on my computer and all the sudden I noticed a stream of new people subscribing to our channel. At first I thought it was because school got out, but after looking into it, I finally realized what happened... Just a few moments ago, The Fine Bros released their newest video "YouTubers react to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared". We actually made our own reaction video to this about 3 months ago and it was pretty popular for us. Since the FineBros video came out, for some reason, it's been sending us a lot of traffic. We've literally been getting a new subscriber every few minutes since they posted their video. I'm just sitting here watching the emails come in when someone subscribes. We've never had anything like this happen before and hopefully it keeps up for a while!

I imagine that we're either showing up in the related videos for some people, or people are just searching for other Don't Hug Me I'm Scared reaction videos after watching the FineBro's (because, at least for me, we're the 2nd result when you search "don't hug me i'm scared reaction", behind the FineBros) but wither way, somehow we're definitely getting more subscribers. We'll see how long this lasts!

The way YouTube's algorithms currently work, the recommended videos are those which are related to the topic at hand, but must be older than the main video. This isn't a surprising result, although there was a bit of luck involved. Congratulations! :D

For sure! We never expected the video to be as popular as it was in the first place. It was actually part of our "Review Mondays" series that we were doing and we watched a few random videos people suggested to us. Obviously this one happened to be the best reaction so we posted it, but it quickly became our second most popular video and is about to become our #1 video. So crazy.

We just passed 100 new subscribers since they posted the video a few hours ago 0__O

And the fact that's because someone else happened to post a video similar to ours is baffling my mind!
