Sub 4 Sub?

What are your thoughts on sub4sub? Do you sub4sub and is it successful for you?

I find that sub4sub does help with new channels but in the long run it doesnt give me much of a fan base, my audience just isnt interested thats why I only do that to get some starter views and subs.

I think that people should do sub 4 sub if they want to really, at the end of the day it is their own choice. I dont look down on those who do sub 4 sub like a lot do, I just dont think anything of it. If someone enjoys doing it or gets what they need from it then its up to them. I think it doesn't bring in quality subscribers or views but it can work to help get you off the ground to begin with. I couldn't agree more about it not keeping you going for very long as these people will rarely return but in some sense it would make you appear more popular on YouTube and may increase the likelihood of others subscribing to your channel too giving you a head start when starting out.

I think its good for those who it works for, it just doesnt seem to work well for me, I mean I post on channels that do sub for sub and I get about two subs and I sub them back and only one of them stays subbed. I need to do it now because no one is watching my videos much and I am busy a lot of the time.

I have mixed feelings about it because it works but it doesnt work because they dont care about you or your videos and they only want a sub but i do it myself ~shoots self~

I think it can be a way to get started ans support other up and coming YouTubers like everyone here (myself included) but it won't build an actual fan base. You can work on building the fan base after getting off the ground by doing sub4sub. I mean I support whoever supports me.

Sub4sub will do no good to your channel. It will leave you with dead subs. It is completely pointless. I mean unless it makes you feel better knowing you're subscribers aren't watching your channel... (Example; You do sub4sub with 50 people, but when you upload videos they only get 8 views.. why? Because majority of those people you did sub4sub with doesn't care about your channel)

I'm loving this Muscleman gif... And I agree that sub4sub won't help in the long run. I really don't see it helping in the "starting-out" stages either because like you said, the other subbers don't care about your channel. They most likely don't watch any of your videos either so it doesn't matter. But, hey, everyone has their own method--I guess?

I don't sub4sub. The only subs I give are to people who's videos I actually view and support. Even my personal YT account has only about 15 subscriptions. I'm very intentional and particular about who I subscribe to.

2. They won't watch your videos
3. It can affects partnerships like Machinima, meaning you could actually not get one for having 'fake' subs.
4. It just generally looks bad and desperate.
