Software Keeps Crashing?! (HELP FINDING A NEW EDITOR)

Hey guys, IDK if anyone here uses VideoPad Video Editor v3, but if you do, does yours crash as well? The error message "Abnormal Execution/Exception" comes up and it forces me to shut it down. This happens about 15 seconds after start up and I would be lucky if I were to add an image to the timeline.

I tried downgrading to V2.4, and although it fixes the problem, the older version can't read my current project file, and I am NOT starting over.

Any help guys?

EDIT: New editor anyone? Preferably free

I used to have that software and mine crashed alot to... I suggest getting a new editor...

I guess that is my best bet. Does anyone have suggestions for a new editor, preferably free for the time being.
