Recording Nintendo DS ETC

hey guys, I always see people recording like Pokemon etc on a handheld gaming device, how do they do this?

most use a emulator on the ol' desktop, but if you can also just make sure the DS is on a stable place and then record it with a camera. (if you use that make sure to turn the brightness down)
