Really awesome cameras?

Would be nice to get a high-def camera to record my guitar videos instead of using the high def int webcam on my macbook, so I kinda want some ideas as to what a good camera is? price range preferably under 500 :)
 
I have a Nikon J1 that I got for about 350. It isn't the newest model but it's small and light and pretty cheap. I bought the 18.5 lens for it. You can see my last few videos to get a sense of the quality. I'd really recommend these types of camera, the mirrorless ones. They are affordable and compact. The panasonic GF series is also great. I'd say go to a store and get a feel for it and see what results you have before buying. But biggest thing of all is LIGHTING! Even mobile phones take great video in the right lighting. Good luck!
