Ramp Time

Instead of worrying about every demographic, I mainly focus on "Ramp Time." That's what I call it at least.

How quickly does my video get views. This tells me a couple things.

1. How competitive is that video
2. How my SEO is working
3. Should I keep recording that game.

Basically it HS been working like this. I plan to make 3 videos of a specific game in the course of 1 week. I measure the ramp speed of each video for 2 days. Keep in mind that I am mostly recording new mobile games. If competition is low for a game, and it's featured as a new game in the AppStore, and I get less than 50 views in 2 days then it's not likely it will be a winner.

Usually if I get 1 view an hour in the first 2 days then to me it is sufficient to make another video in it. 50 views in 2 days is 150-200 views in a week. If it does better GREAT! Ramp time is my baseline. If it falls below this, then it is not likely I will make more videos on that game. I will try to find a replacement.

For me it seems to be a bell shaped curve (like everything in life). I make a video, it ramps up to a point, levels out, then drops.

My goal is to have 3 games that I record regularly. If one falls below this threshold, then I replace it with another game.

Obviously user engagement, comments etc play a role too. This is merely a mental guideline that I use to decide if it's worth the time to continue with that game.

You've obviously put a tremendous amount of thought into this. Please keep us all posted as to how this works out for you and your channel!
