Offered to join TGN?

Hazzador

I Love YTtalk
I have been offered to join this network, which is one of the biggest ones on youtube. I am kind of unsure if this is legit though, because it was left as a comment by somebody on ones of my videos. However, I have recieved an e-mail from them and it looks prefessional and stuff, but I was just wondering if big companies actually went after smaller youtubers like this to partner with. And also would you guys recommend joining a network at this early stage for me?

I've heard from a 150k-sub channel (more than that, really) owner that networks are a bit of a necessary evil. I'm still on the fence as to whether I want to join one myself.

Regardless, if it's legit and TGN wants you, do your research and then accept if you feel it's the best network for you.

By the way, nice trailer.

PS. Why haven't you set up your custom URL for your channel?

Do not go with TGN. Gaming channels should go with Curse. TGN is garbage.

I don't think it was legit anyway, as I seem to recall that you need to have a rather large subscriberbase to be relevant for them.

I watched a video where some guy was going on about how bad TGN are lol and yeah I have quite a strong feeling its a 'fake' offer

I'm not convinced either, no. I run my channel as a hobby (to which I have started to apply a lot of polish, but a hobby nonetheless) and I don't know that a network will go with my brand.

BroadbandTV, the parent company of TGN is the second largest MCN and they manage a lot of huge corporate channels.

In terms of legitimacy, I think you can be fairly certain they will pay you as long as there is a valid contract in place. However, as I've said many times, there is almost no point to joining an MCN if you're a smaller channel. They can not really do anything for you and will offer you an unfair split.
