Hey everyone!
I was looking for a good vlog camera, i have a budget now of €80,00.
I know, it isn't that much, but i don't have that much money.. :(

Thanks!

(I was looking at the Canon IXUS 132, is that a good one?)

Hi and welcome.

What kind of Vlogs will you be using the camera for? Will you be going outside and filming yourself moving and doing things or will it mainly be sat inside talking to the camera sitting still?

I think if you will be mainly talking to the camera, it might be better to get a decent HD webcam (Logitech do some good ones in that price range).

80 euros isn't really a lot for a "normal camera" and I'd be worried you are disappointed with the result when you need to take it outside and film motion/action shots.

That's just my opinion. I'm sure some of the other members will be along to advise too.

Good luck :)

€80,00 wont get you much in the way of a decent video camera i'm affraid.

Like Andrew said, you will be able to get a decent HD webcam for that money and there are free softwares you can use for the recording on your pc also there are filters etc you can use to make your film look really good.

If you go down the webcam route, make sure you install all the correct drivers etc to ensure you get the maximum frame/bit rates from the webcam.

Hello, thanks for answering!
I will use the camera for inside, and i will sit still with it but i also want to walk with it and talk.

Thanks for your reply!

In that case it may be worth saving a little more money, you will be incredibly disappointed with the quality on a video camera you get for €80,00

I'd say at a minimum you want something 720 HD

you are probably looking closer to €130,00 minimum for a half decent camera unless you can find a really good second hand deal or something on sale

Yeah I agree with Jamie.

I was recently looking for a cheap camera myself and I did a lot of research and got a lot of advice on here and I came to the conclusion that I needed €130 - €150 to get something I wouldn't be disappointed with. What I found while doing research was that good quality for video needs more than just a lot of pixels. Things like the quality of the sensor, image stabilization and FPS are really important too and this is where the cheaper cameras fall down. There's a huge difference in quality between 24FPS and 30 FPS for example particularly when in HD.

A week ago, I ended up buying the Canon Ixus 220HS (US name: Canon ELPH 300) They don't make them anymore, but I bought a surplus stock one from a seller on ebay for 135 Euros including shipping. I think the seller would have accepted a lower offer, probably €120.

A newer version of the same camera with a few improvements is the Canon Ixus 240HS (US name: Canon ELPH 320) and even more recent the Canon Ixus 255HS (US name: Canon ELPH 330)

Here's the thread:

Okay, thanks for the advice!

What if I have a budget of €150, is that a good budget for a camera?
And if it is, which camera would you recommend?

Any of the 3 cameras in my previous post (or anything with similar specifications):

Don't forget to budget for a class 10 memory card
