Hey Guys,

For the last year or so I've had this really awesome idea for my channel but somehow I can't get it together. The problem is that my idea involves having two of me in one single shot. I've done some research on my own but still haven't done this unique technique successful. Is there anyone out there that can education me on this video editing techniqueI'm trying to achieve or am I to far out my league to accomplish this? Let's chat about this. Also, if you know someone that can help me pass my message along.

Thanks,

Wes

I actually just learned how to do this a couple of days ago. It's really easy to do and only took me about five minutes. The help you get depends on the video editor you use.

A big tip to do before you do the effect is to not have any body parts/ shadows appear in the middle (If your using the split screen/masking technique)

Can you explain in more detail or your experience with masking?

I use Sony Vegas, so for that I go into the pan tool, and in there I have masking options. I just use a basic rectangle on the top layer of a clone, and poof only whats in that rectangle appears. So my bottom layer of my other side clone well be merged. Sometimes I've needed to bend and use multiple points in the mask but ya that's the gist of it.
