Managing upload and Internet caps

Hopefully someone will have a voice in on this :) so I have an issue. My Internet provider likes to cap us pretty hard. And expensive too. I think 100gb a month for 4 people. I upload I'm 720p wmv format usually before work because it is painfully slow. I am wondering if anyone has any advice on video uploads and data caps. Uploading 2-3 a week takes up a chunk so I almost have to calendar plan my uploads. The isp also keeps raising rates so upping the cap isn't really an option at the moment :/

First of all wmv are a large amount when it comes to file sizes because it is not compressed, it would be better if you render your videos in mp4 file format that way the video is compressed and is still at high quality.

Smaller Files, Faster Upload.

Try rendering using smaller file formats, H.264 mp4 files give me <100mb for my shorter videos. Then plan using a solid schedule and also work with your family/roommates.

Some settings were a little silly in Vegas for mp4 but I for sure will take a closer look knowing it is smaller in size. Appreciate that info! I'm sure I should have known that
Search up guides for the best YouTube settings on Sony Vegas. I think there are a couple here.

Yeah aim for Mp4 and don't export at a bitrate higher than 5mbps. Mp4s at 5mbps for a 30min video should be roughly 1gb in size. So if you're uploading videos <=15mins they're 500mb or less. What country are you in as well? I've only ever really known Oz to cap net usage. lol

Have another video to render tomorrow so perfect opportunity to look into that. Those are great sizes! I'm used to 3hr uploads. I'm in the US. att US gotten a bit expensive out here

Quick update: I bought a new game to record that looks like fun and ended up doing 2 episodes. I rendered them as mp4 using Internet HD settings (used wrong mp4 in render list last time) . So I went to upload it. I try and keep videos about 20 minutes because that's what I enjoy watching on YouTube. Now my last mine craft video was 22 minutes and 779,467KB for wmv HD. My mp4 video is 20 minutes but 899,829. Now I did record in 60fps but still half-size.

Unfortunately I'm in a hotel waiting to take my civil service exam in another city and their upload is just meeting the bar at. 001 up lol. I will try and post render settings to so if I can change something to make it smaller and upload quicker.

Also there's always a note on yt upload page about if audio was in a stream able format it would upload quicker?
