How to promote on social networks?

Hi all, I want to get started with promotion on social networks but have no idea where to start. I run a tech channel but don't know how I should go about promoting videos because all of the groups I see are either spammy as they are, empty, or have no one else promoting. There seems to be no real middle ground :(. I also want to get started with Reddit promotion but again no one seems to be posting videos on the subreddits that I saw and I don't want to break any rules or anything.

I'd love your advice because my recent videos didn't pick up any traction and I really feel like it is because my promotion is lacking (I practically do nothing to promote them at the moment).

Try /r/videos and find the subject you want and put it there just make sure to read the rules. Some don't let you post. Oh BTW try StumbleUpon, google it, you will see.
