How Do You Promote Your Channel and Videos?

We are relatively new to YouTube, but we are on Facebook and Twitter. However, growth is slow and I was wondering how to you personally promote everything? Sub for sub is not an option as we want this to be a real channel. I know growth comes as it does, but what are tactics that you use? We only hit our 15 sub mark today after being on for 3 months.
