How do you get Youtube, Social Media Experience for a job?

No. This is the first I heard of this. I never heard of a job that takes Youtube seriously regardless of subs and whatnot. If Markiplier tried applying to a regular job and told him who he was, I'm pretty sure the hiring guy will be like 'who?'.

Has the world really changed that much?

He meant social media not specifically youtube, but how do you think companies manage their customer relations- they have social media accounts like in facebook, twitter, etc. They need someone to manage these and answer customer inquiries. I was once p****d off at an airline and messaged them on facebook and lo and behold, they responded. Social media is just another avenue to enhance customer service. I agree with the youtube comment sort of, because there are many companies on youtube that make a lot of their revenue on youtube, however they need experienced camera crews and marketers to continue bringing the money. This is where youtube experience may come into play but only for people who are widely successful (10k subs or more).
