Free Screen Capture Software

Guys if you could help me find a free screen capture software that would be great. I would love a gaming screen capture software if possible.

Fraps isn't free and is very demanding

The uncracked version only records 30 sec at a time and cracking it is illegal. Besides, compared to OBS which is completely free, it is absolutely terrible. There are a ton of games not compatible with Fraps and it also can't record Google Chrome unless you do a screen record, which only bulks up its already large file size even more.

ok so i downloaded OBS but it's only recording a black screen?

OBS is the way to go, I used to use fraps (yes, the free download version) and it added a watermark to it which is very annoying.
OBS is free (that's always a plus) and you can even live stream with it, which is helpful if you do decide to livestream something off your computer.
