Hey my name is RealSinatra and I'm new to this app and seemingly this is a really cool app to communicate with others! I recently got the HD pvr rocket from Hauppauge which records my game play and commentary but the game audio is louder than the commentary audio. I can't figure out how to split the audios on Sony vegas 13. I'm sure there's a way so can something inform me on this or can someone express an alternative. im just a dud that wants to make gaming YouTube videos so any help is appreciated.
 
Welcome to the app, lol. Ummm what exactly do you mean split the audio?If the game audio is louder than the commentary audio you should be able to just turn the game audio volume down. If youve recorded both audio sources to one channel, then there's not much you can do
 
if you want to split your audio and game play you need to have two programs on at the same time. One recording the game only and another recording your voice only, this is tricky to do but not impossible although your computer will use up more cpu if you do this so its hard on game play.
 
As Technomania said, you'll need two different programs on at the same time.

So, assuming the Rocket you have records both at the same time, you should be able to set it to record just one (preferably disabling your mic in it) then download a program *cough* audacity *cough* and run it to record your voice.
I did this for a time with two of my series, and it worked fairly well. CPU usage wasn't high, though, to be far, I was playing To The Moon and Creeper World 3... so...

You will have to sync it up, which shouldn't be a problem if you give yourself a cue (E.G. mouse over the "Start" button and say "Hey Everyone!" when you do so.)

As per CPU usage, don't sweat it. If your CPU is 2.5GHz or higher and you are using a dedicated graphics card, it should work fine.

Honestly, with an external recorder, I don't even know if you need to sweat the graphics card (I have no experience with external recording, so shoot me down anytime)
