I've Got It
I've been using Sony Vegas 13 for about a year now, and I still can't figure out what to do when a clip renders as pure black sometimes. It's usually just when I have a lot of clips, but still irritating. Can anybody help?

Hmm I never had that problem before with Sony Vegas.
Have you tried looking for solutions on google? I searched "sony vegas rendered video black" and there's quite a bit of videos and websites that offer solutions to that problem.

I've seen some solutions and tried some, but the only one that seems to work is one where I have to render the video, edit out the black screen part and reinsert the clip into that video. However, this is pretty tedious. Thanks for searching, though.

Make sure to highlight what you want to render (double click and drag from start to finish and it should all get highlighted light blue) and in the render options check the option for "Render loop region only". If that still doesn't work, it could be that one of your video tracks went offline (loss of the raw video) or that you have 'muted' the track entirely, which is just when you have pressed the 'mute sound' button on your keyboard. It usually turns the track a darker color. Hope that helps a bit. I work at a TV studio as an intern haha I help a lot with editing stuff,
