Creating a Youtube Character? Good Idea?

Nah, neither of the guys I know use their characters for every video. Most of their videos are done as themselves.

It all depends upon whether you'd be able to live with knowing your not being who you really are on youtube. I believe that guy philip defranco uses philip defranco as his stage name and there's others who act and potray characters on youtube. It mainly all depends on what you want to get out of doing it and what you have to offer.
