Correlation between Viewership and Time of Year

I am just curious,

Does anyone see any correlation between the amount of views you get on certain months compared to other months? I have not been on YouTube for a full year yet (April, here I come), but it is something I was curious on for others. You see that retail stores, movie theaters, etc. are busier around Christmas, and dead in the earlier months, is the same true for YouTube? Because of the school season, you're less likely to get as many views as compared to Christmas or during the Summer, as more people have more on their plate at that time.

The thought just recently occurred to me, and I decided to share to see if anyone's noticed anything (I haven't seen anything too drastic on my own channel)

I looked at my last couple of years and I've noticed at least for my channel that I tend to get more views at the beginning of the year and a dip in views usually around the summer time. My viewers primarily are in the upper 20's to mid 30's so it's possible they're going on family vacations etc; really hard to say.

It depends on your age demographic. But I've seen the opposite trend. I've seen more views during the school season and less time during holidays. My viewers are mostly between age of 16-28. I have discussed about this with some of my youtube friends and each of them had different experiences. So it's really hard to say.

Seasonal changes may signal a big factor, during winter more and more people may decide to stay indoors and spend more time on YouTube. I've found sometimes viewership dips during spring break or other school related holidays because people are out there doing something else. But again this is dependent on your demographic, someone who creates vlogs may see their average year round viewership grow/stay at the same rate, where as channels have specific topics in mind such as cooking may see a bump in views during thanksgiving and Christmas.
