Hey guys, just a quick question.

I'm considering upgrading the amount of RAM I have (currently at 6...4 and 2 I know it's weird) and am caught in that ancient dilemma of choosing between 8gb and 16gb. Now, I've read a couple of things here and there and just wanted your guys' opinions as YouTubers as I assume a lot of you will be involved with intensive software? I use a lot of Photoshop for editing raw DSLR files, FL Studio, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Reaper.

Anywho, I'm not that much of a techy person, but let me know your opinions/experiences!

Thanks

If you run your programs at the same time I'd go with 16GB. Well, even if you don't, I'd go with 16GB, more is better...

8 RAM is more than enough tbh, even though 16 RAM is nice to have it isn't needed however the choice remains to you :P

Go for 16 if you can afford it. 8 are generally sufficient but when it comes to video editing I agree with @ToxicSludge that you can never have enough RAM.

Get at least 16GB of RAM. I am on 8GB right now and being on Chrome and having Vegas open at the same time (god forbid I open Resolve...) eats up a lot. If you're working on a heavy project you'll need it.
Make sure your motherboard supports the clock speed of the RAM and even better if it works with XMP profiles so you don't have to configure anything in the BIOS.

8 GB of RAM are enough. Photoshop usually write temp files on your hard drive. FL and Reaper don't need much RAM. Premier Pro may run smoother with more RAM if you have many layers or high resolution, but with 8 you are fine.
Anyways, 16 Gigs can make your PS and Premier experience better, so, if you can afford, go for 16 GB of RAM.
