Audio Advice Needed!

Undiscovered....
Looking for those audio experts out there!

I currently use a Rode Lavelier Mic with a 3.5mm Micon Connector, connected to a Zoom H1.

I'm still not overly happy with my audio - please feel free to take a look at a video and comment on the audio quality and let me know if its OK?

Nevertheless, although Im happy with the Rode Lav Mic, Im considering ditching the 3.5mm Micon connector and replacing it with a XLR connector instead, and replacing the Zoom H1 with either a H4n or a Tascam.
Would this provide me with better audio quality through the XLR connection??

Many thanks in advance.[DOUBLEPOST=1420143672,1420142972][/DOUBLEPOST]Just to add, the mic I have is a Rode Lavalier Omni Condenser Mic - It is NOT the cheaper SmartLav mic!

The type of connection the audio uses has no affect on the quality, BUT the device it is plugged into does since the device does all the processing and compression. A 6.5mm, 3.5mm, USB, and/or XLR cord used on the same mic will all provide the same exact quality if they are plugged into the same device. Changing the device and/or the mic results in better audio quality.

With that being said, switching to a Tascam or H4N will provide better audio, but I don't think it's a worthy difference for you to drop $100+ on it.

I honestly thing your audio is pretty stellar. I don't think you need to upgrade :)
