Approached by BBTV. Help!

So I recently launched my Youtube channel 3 weeks ago.

My first video only got about 10k views. My second however kind of blew up. A lot of major websites and blogs wrote an article on it. It only has 30k views and some change over the last 7 days. My subscriber count is like 200.

I was approached by BBTV and they wanted to jump on a call with me. They said they loved the channel, wanted to talk about what they can offer me.

I never thought about joining a network and I don't even know if I really want to. The only reason I can suspect why they reached out to me is because nobody on youtube is doing what I am doing on my channel. It's truly unique. So I'm not sure if that's the reason or what.

With my very small stats, why would BBTV approach me to join their network? Is that the norm? And does anybody have any experience with this company?

Thanks much!

@MrPercyFrazier BBTV is not a big network and you most likely got a message from one of their many recruiters and i'm not knocking that your channel isn't unique but the likely reason is that the recruiter just wants the reward from recruiting you into the network. My advice, you don't need a network with such a small base just grow some more and then decide what network you want to go into.

Thank you all for the replies and advice. This is just what I was looking for.

And I got 33k views just from one video. I got 3k views just from the time that I wrote this post in this thread, so it's continuing to grow at a steady pace. My first video has 10k + views.

But still, 2 videos at around 43k views.

@GamingHappens - thanks again for the advice. The person from BBTV has talent partnership in their signature so not sure if that's a recruiter or what. But yes, I agree, my channel is still small as it only launched 3 weeks ago and is still growing.

I don't know what benefit there is to a partner. I don't need a sound effects library as I do that on my own. the music in my videos is 100% custom created so I'm covered on that front. I don't need any graphics, etc. as I can handle all of that. The only benefit I would see is viewership but from the looks of launching my video 7 days ago and I'm already at 33k views I don't really know if I even need that.

Time, keeping my content of quality and releasing on schedule is the only thing that I need right now and I'm not sure if a network partner can really do anything for me there...

I'll sit tight, worry about my content and not about partnering.

Again, thanks for the advice!

If you partner they get part of your earnings from monetization, and since your video is gaining views so fast they want you to sign as fast as possible so they can benefit from the coming views. What they gain from you signing is pretty obvious, but I don't think you would gain a lot right now.

First off, I've never heard of BBTV, secondly, yes it is normal for networks approaching small channels but trust me when I say you don't need them. They will offer you a terrible contract because you're only small, if you were bigger and got a lot more views you'd be offered a much better contract with much better terms. Just stick with Adsense until your channels grows A LOT bigger then you can consider your options as bigger and better networks would be contacting you. Hope this helps :)

"talent partnership" is literally just a fancy way of saying recruiter, they literally have it in the description of their open jobs on their website "The Talent Partnerships Manager – Gaming will oversee a sales team to support the growth of the MCN through the recruitment of gaming content channels to join our network."

I don't know what benefit there is to a partner. I don't need a sound effects library as I do that on my own. the music in my videos is 100% custom created so I'm covered on that front. depends really on the network and channel type, for example the network im under "curse" is a gaming network that gives a 90/10 rev split with a no lock-in contract and they provide two free music library's a social media tool and a sales team to increase your cpm and a dedicated support team to handle 3rd party claims/strikes, but other networks may have other incentives to join their network such as free advertising (unlikely unless you're like 200k+) promotion deals, music library, protection.
So in general if you plan on going into a network just remember to CAREFULLY READ what they are giving you because a lot of network that approach you through youtube (trust me A LOT of these networks have tried this with me) will try to trick you into their network with s****y deals like 60/40 rev split with a 1 year contract which is pretty much as bad as you can get.[DOUBLEPOST=1432700438,1432700288][/DOUBLEPOST]

BBTV is BroadbandTV Corp. and as far as I remember their not exactly the most "reliable" you might know them through TGN which is part of BBTV

search for and the world was paper

I recreate movie trailers and famous scenes out of nothing but paper. It kind of blew up. I got picked up by a bunch of popular websites and blogs.

I also got approached by a couple more youtube partner groups... I don't think I'm even going to reply though. I mean, unless they can offer me some deal I cannot refuse, there's no need to have someone dip their fingers in my pot. I should have the upper hand here, right? I mean, I'm the one spending 40+ hours a week working on content!
