Anyone got any good GIMP tutorials?

I want to start making some good quality thumbnails for my Youtube videos, and was wondering if anyone had any good GIMP tutorials that I could look at, to start me on my way? This seemed like the best subforum for this thread, but please feel free to move it if there is somewhere better suited for it.

It's generally best to just start googling what you're trying to make. Otherwise you could google beginner tutorials but there aren't that many great tutorials for GIMP. I found it difficult to find what I wanted at times.

Couldn't have put it better myself, wiht GIMP it depends what you are looking for. I know a lot of poepl have chosen to use other pieces of software to meet their needs, but I too use gimp.
to be honest I think it is a good bit of software that will do what you need if you know what you are doing, so like Andrew was saying just look up what you need there are some good step by steps on youtube that I found, so maybe start there?

Thanks for the help, will look around youtube for tutorials and help, because I feel that it can only be a good thing if I am able to make my own high quality thumbnails.
