Adwords basically is paying money to get ads onto Google Pages. In a way, you pay a loansome amount (roughly 10 dollars daily or so) to get ads onto Google, in which pays for Google in itself. In a way, I personally wouldn't recommend Adwords unless you have a partnership on your YouTube channel and in a way it would help for broadcasting or advertising your videos and channel.
In the same sense, you can assess free advertising through social media which I would highly recommend. Reddit and Facebook are literally the number one sources to posting YouTube videos. But then again, it's all about time and patience. Advertising is a good idea for some cases, if your willing to pay money for it.
