Every time I use AdWords on a video, I get really low retention views. Like, way worse than I get without AdWords. I usually have around 40% retention, but with AdWords I get less than 20%. That pretty much kills the video's ranking.
Have anyone else had this issue before?
 
It could be a few factors you need to keep in mind.
- Are you targeting the right audience?
- Some people might click because they are curious to see what the ad is about but then are more interested to watch the initial video they had originally clicked on
