A Few Q's About Cameras and Lighting

Hello, yttalk community! As you may have noticed, I'm new here. I've been wanting to start a vlog/comedy sketch channel for a while now, but unfortunately, my video camera is like 5 years old and records in terrible quality. So I was wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction concerning a new video camera... preferably not more than $500.

Also, I was wondering what you guys generally do for lighting. I really have no idea what to do for lighting. Should I buy some kind of special lamp or something? lol, I'd really like it if you could help me out.

For editing, I think I'll just start with Windows Live Movie Maker, but I might eventually get something better. Now that I think about it, I guess I do have a couple questions about partnering, but I suppose I've got bigger things than that to worry about now.

Try and see how much a canon rebel T2I or T4I is (also known as canon 650D) ots a really good camera and amazon normally have them on sale in the UK.. not sure about america though, for lighting on vlogs general outside lighting works but a simple 3 point light system (around £50 on amazon) works great!

Okay sweet, I'll look that stuff up, but the only 3 point light system I could find on amazon costs like $120....[DOUBLEPOST=1367370216,1367367650][/DOUBLEPOST]So I guess dslr cameras can film too? I probably don't need to spend that much on an expensive video camera because I don't need it for pictures. Do you know of any good handycams? (I think that's what they're called. They're the cameras with the screen that flips out.)
