YouTube's new Partnership scheme?

So like everyone else, I've seen that the partnership programme has changed. You used to have to apply to be a partner and have a fairly decent subscriber number to get accepted but now it seems to have all changed. It seems anyone can now become a partner? I could monetise my videos before all this update, and now it seems that the new 'partnership' is just what monetisation used to be. Also what are all of these partnership companies, like TGN, and what do they do?
I'm so confused... :S Is anyone else mixed up or have I missed something here?

So far, Will is the best to present and describe this new partner program in full detail.
Although it sucks I'm disabled from Adsense.... :/
If only there was a way I can apply for Partnership (FULL) and get the benefits (thumbnails, banners, etc) without Adsense and earning money. I'd be up for that.

Okay thanks for that. So basically it's all just a mess... everyone who was monetised is a partner, but they don't get partner benefits... Nice one YouTube

Hey everyone im new so hello. but the video above is most likely right but i think youtube did the right thing because they cant have everyone with full features or everyone would do it?

Hey welcome to the forums :) I agree with that, but at the same time I dont believe you should be considered a partner without all the branding features, now unless they change the title of people will branding features to "Full Partners" for example I think it is going to be even more confusing for everyone, everyone can now call themselves a partner if they make anything from their videos. Technically I am a partner and the vast majority of people on this forum are according to this, I couldnt bring myself to call myself one. It would feel like calling myself a professional video editor because I have edited a couple of videos or something like that.

All in all I hope they give those who have branding features their own group title because they do have more special features than newcomers who decide to monetise their videos.

I also agree with you, but at the same time i think they should be called gold partners or something like that and just call us partners or atleast not call us partners and let use make a profit?
