Local News Channels Appear and Reappear Frequently

Member w/o channel.

When I click on News, the list appears i.e. World, National, Science etc. For the past year or so, Local will appear for up to two weeks and then disappear forcing me to subscribe to a local news channel (Denver) and then deleting it again so as to avoid having to scroll through unused subscriptions.

I have just spent 30 minutes trying to ask Google and search YouTube on this topic to no avail.

Why?
