I came to this forum around January 2015 to report that I had half of my channel false content ID claimed by MCN Freedom. I am pleased to report that soon after I made that post I was contacted by someone in MCN Freedom who had immediately removed all false content ID claims from my channel.

I decided that I will investigate this and report back to the forum with my findings.

I had discovered this false content ID scam not only affected me but other channels in the Military section.
A few months before this happened my Ex talent manager Mohamed Al-Badrawi (Nickname Moody) from Freedom sub network OneKindMedia had announced that he was talking to Freedom CEO George about getting content ID for his network OneKindMedia. I think Mohamed is now the CEO of Zoonix network

At the start of January 2015 when its normal for earnings to go down I got the older half of my channel false content ID claimed so this was very well hidden. Fortunately I had my Gmail open so I was getting E-mail notifications coming in and I was able to shut down my channel to foil their plans.

I had appealed some of these content ID claims some were released and some were rejected. There was one video I pointed out that it was US Military and that works by the US Government are public domain. After I sent this appeal off YouTube channel Daily Military Defense & Archive had started from that day on mostly uploading only US Military Public domain content. Interestingly this channel was partnered with MCN Freedom. I had sent a message to this channel he claimed he had nothing to do with it but he kept asking me for screen shots of the content ID details as he wanted to help. But I had refused as I suspected he played a part in this because he decided to upload mostly US Military public domain content just after I appealed one video with the US Military public domain defense. If you go and look at this channel it's very popular get great views but look at the subscriber counter it's set to private for some strange reason.

I came to this forum to tell everyone what happened and someone from freedom had released their claims on my channel. Thats when I started to investigate.

I contacted freedom directly and told them that I suspect that Moody was behind this they told me that Moody was already on the radar for shady things but Freedom refused to say what exactly he was on the radar for. Freedom told me they had investigated that matter and could not find any evidence that he was behind it but they also told me that his power to respond to content ID appeals had been revoked.

I then contacted someone who I know in Freedom to find out who exactly is behind this channel I was told that this person was using the name of Younes so I looked up this name on wikipedia this is what i found:

Yunus (also spelled Younes or Younis, Arabic: ‎, Younis, Persian: ‎‎, Younes) is a common male given name and the Arabic equivalent of the name Jonah, meaning dove.

I also found out that the owner had English as a second language.

So we got a rival channel that just happens to be partnered with freedom that I suspect was looking at my content ID appeals, is using an Arab name and uses English as a second language. Interestingly Moody is an Iraqi Arab was a big fan of the Freedom network and had content ID powers. The channel was partnered with Freedom directly and not via OneKindMedia I thought to myself if Moody is running that channel why would he not partner it with OneKindMedia? I came to the conclusion that I have the wrong person or Moody is smart he knows that it would look creepy to be running a competing channel to a client that left him. A few months after the channel was moved from freedom to broadband TV interestingly Moody had worked with Broadband TV before founding OneKindMedia with MCN Freedom. So I felt I had a reason to suspect that Moody was running this channel.

I then started to ask MCN Freedom questions about the channel that took my videos and activated content ID I was told the following that the channel was partnered with freedom via sub network MTX Network the owners name was Insider Media. Interestingly I had spoken to MTX Network before this happened about a possible partnership that I had rejected. So the channel that took my videos and content ID them just so happens to be partnered with MTX Network that knew about my channel and was offering me a partnership what a coincidence. I had confronted MTX Network about this and guess what silence they wont message me back as to how this could of happened.

I found out there were a number of channels in the military section that had some of their videos falsely content ID claimed. So the amounts of money we talking there could potentially be big.

A few months ago I was told that Moody had lost his content ID powers with MCN Freedom because of Fraud.

The rival channel MilitaryWarArchive that I mentioned earlier was buying thousands of dollars worth of Fake views to push his videos up and pushing our videos down in search results and suggested video section. The Question is where did this person get the money from to buy so much in fake views?

So my suspicions are that OneKindMedia and MTX Network worked together to false content ID claim videos in the military section and OneKindMedia who is suspected of running the rival channel used the money to buy thousands of dollars worth of fake views to get his videos and channel ranked up fast.

Thats my report for the forum and I would like to urge you all that these people are just suspects and you should presume them innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

My question is this: as view-buying is against YouTube's TOS, and YouTube has data algorithms in place to trap this sort of behaviour, how could your claim of them spending thousands on fake views not have ended with both channels shut down?

I've heard some shady things about that Zoonix network you said the guy you mentioned now works for, alot of them linking copyright etc.

I can pass that channel you think is botting views up to someone at YouTube for them to look into it, if they find it to be true they'd likely close the channel.

UKHypnotist I have discussed the issue of Fake views with both Fullscreen and Collective now named Studio71 they both know this happens a lot from what I know small channels that do it and get caught yes they have their channel taken down but large channels if they get caught they have the fake views removed and sometimes the video will be taken down. If you buy cheep fake views you will get caught but if you buy good quality fake views you can get away with it. This is what I have been told. There are many channels out there that have gotten away with it. Just because it's against the rules dose not mean it's impossible to get away with cheating. I have watched this channel ever since it was created and I know what types of videos get views and I can tell it's using fake views.

Shane,
I can not comment about Zoonix as I know nothing about them a few people have told me positive things about them. What sort of shady things have you heard about Zoonix?
My impression of Moody is that he is a person obsessed with money and he seems to be lacking in honesty and respect that is just my personal impression of him so do not take that as fact.

Thanks for your offer you are more than welcome to report this channel but I doubt they will take it down i think the larger channels get away with it. I should tell you that Moody has previously lost a channel due to copyright so he is not permitted to operate a YouTube channel. This channel is a big issue in the military section as he is driving away the fans by forcing up his videos and pushing down the more entertaining videos in the suggested video section. He has a huge obsession with money and this problem will just get worse and worse unless YouTube takes action. I had reported him to YouTube partner support about 8 months ago and they did not take it down but I think they audited his subscriber numbers and removed a large number of his fake subscribers that caused the channel to get ranked down. He got some big obsession to catch up to me in the view count and prove that he is better than me by using fake views. I think you can tell by now there is something wrong with this guy I do not think of this a normal behavior.

The reason I think he hides his subscribers numbers is because he has been buying huge numbers of fake subscribers to get his channel ranked up. So by all means report the channel even if they do not take the channel down there is a good chance that YouTube will remove some of the Fake subscribers and get his channel ranked down to a more appropriate level.

I am happy to talk to YouTube and show them evidence and discuss the issues he is causing in the military section.

Regards

Hey,

I escalated this channel as possibly botting and they've gotten back to me today to say that from their point of view there doesn't seem to be any botting going on.

Just in general across this forum, I've noticed you often seriously over-estimate how much YT actually does anything toward large channels. For a channel to actually be shut down permanently, they usually have to be repeat offenders for what they got in trouble for originally.

Heck, I've seen one google support thread where a guy got his channel shut down for the third time for botting (somehow getting it restored the first 2 tmes), and this time it did stay shut down. Guess what? He started another channel and ANNOUNCED it in that google support thread. He straight-up announced that he was starting a new channel with the whole "lololol" crap at the end of that post and everything. That was a year ago, and he still has that new channel.
He got shut down 3 times, with the 3rd time being the final, and yet had no problem starting a new channel which is against the TOS and he's been making money off it for a year now.

That is how YT handles stuff.

Google employees don't tend to be active in the product forums, most users that answer questions are volunteers.
Whatever about botting but I can say that any escalations of channels for abuse/ sexual content/ phishing/ other community guideline breaks and the channel is terminated within the hour. The team that handles reports tends to act fast if they know of an issue so with your example below it's likely nobody reported the channel (you can go to somebody's channel and click the flag button).

Perhaps my "overestimation" is due to the fact that I am an honest YouTube Creator who expects the platform to follow its own rules. It really shouldn't matter what the size of the channel is. Rule-breaking is still rule-breaking; and yes, channel shutdown is mainly for repeat offenders, but I've also seen instances of complaints where a channel got shut down on first offence; usually for a severe infraction of the Community Guidelines.

Hey,

I escalated this channel as possibly botting and they've gotten back to me today to say that from their point of view there doesn't seem to be any botting going on.
Thanks for doing that Shane. He might be doing it less now but I suspect that he used good quality botted views that could be harder to detect plus he has alot of organic traffic comming in
making the investigation process alot more harder.

One method to detect fake views are the lack of comments on a video
I got one video and compared it to 3 other copy's on different channels.

On Daily military this video got 7 comments for 70961 views that is 1 comment per 10137 views

On Arronlee33 this video got 15 comments for 12357 views that is 1 comment per 824 views

On ArmedForcesUpdate this video got 661 comments for 1461287 views that is 1 comment per 2210 views

On Saab AB this video got 4 comments for 5801 views that is 1 comment per 1450 views

So we know the video should get 1 comment for 824 to 2210 views but as you can see the 1 comment for 10137 views is faraway from Normal
Now lets look at like and dislikes
On daily military this video got 143 likes and 5 dislikes thats 1 like per 496 views and 1 dislike per 14192 views

On Arronlee33 this video got 102 likes and 4 dislikes thats 1 like for 121 views and 1 dislike for 3089 views

On Saab AB this video got 67 likes and no dislikes thats 1 like for 86 views and no dislikes yet

On AFU this video got 2510 likes and 390 dislikes thats 1 like for 582 views and 1 dislike for 3747 views

The likes appear to be consistent with the AFU copy but when you look at the dislikes it dose not look consistent with the other two copys

So what we have is a video that is inconsistent with both comments and dislikes up to 4 to 5 times from the normal average.

When you compare this video with just the Arronlee33 and SaabAB copies you can clearly see a greater inconsistency and those videos
are more closer to the Daily military copy in terms of number of views.

When you bot net a video sometimes you get the video to go viral but other times the video will not go viral. This was one example where the video failed to go viral.

From my Discussions with two networks over bot views I discovered that YouTube is unable to detect all bot views because they vary in quality and are increasingly
becoming more difficult to distinguish between a real view and a botted view as botted view quality has been improving.

I did report this channel to MCN Freedom and I had noticed that it was unlinked from MCN freedom shortly after and it's now partnered with broadband TV.

I just have one more request for you shane can you get YouTube to check my channel for bot views and report back to me with their answer?
I just noticed some strange activity on my channel. Thanks again for your help.
